City Infographic | Nakuru County – Access to Energy

In 2021, 64% of the households in Nakuru County had access to electricity. By 2027, the County aims to provide electricity to all households and increase energy efficiency by providing temporary subsidies, mapping areas for grid extension and promoting uptake of solar home systems and solar lanterns, among other measures. In addition, by 2030 Nakuru County aims to increase access to clean cooking alternatives to 100% of the population, thus reducing the number of households primarily relying on traditional biomass for cooking to zero.
