The ‘green city’ has identified concrete actions in several areas (environment, water, agriculture and transport) to be better prepared for the effects of climate change now and minimize future damage to its citizens and the economy. As heavy precipitation is among the climate hazards with the greatest impact on the city, by 2030 Bobo-Dioulasso plans to rehabilitate and develop at least 55 000m of rainwater drainage infrastructure and ensure that 20% of roads are protected from floods and erosion. It also plans to restore its biodiversity by developing 50 ha of green corridors and spaces that have been degraded.

This infographic was created for the signatory city as part of the GIZ support to CoM SSA.
