Optimizing the energy and environmental performance of a new hospital

A private actor plans to develop a university and hospital campus in Kampala.

The project is fully in line with the government’s Uganda Vision 2040 plan, one of whose objectives is to improve health indicators. The construction of the campus will be financed mainly by the private client, and Proparco will finance part of the investment with a subsidized $35M loan and a $5M grant. Proparco has established three conditions for its support — the client must commit to strengthening access to care for the most disadvantaged people, strengthening human resources in health in Kampala and ensure energyefficient
and environmental construction.
