FACTSHEET: Advocacy and Resource Mobilization (PADIC VIeD)

Most development aid actors go directly through the central government, NGOs or directly implement the financing with specific and nonstructuring projects while involving weakly or not the local communities as project owner of the local development actions. Furthermore, local authorities do not take into account the needs of certain vulnerable groups in their planning and resource mobilization tools for the realization of local sustainable development issues. In addition, local governments are not using innovative capacity building, networking and resource mobilization mechanisms to demonstrate their place and roles in meeting local sustainable development challenges. It is this observation that led CONGAT / ICB to make a plea to the DAHW and COPAPTO in order to be able to experiment with an “advocacy and resource mobilization component” through the PADIC VieD co-financed by the European Union and the DAHW in the framework of the implementation of PASJ in Togo.
