AMAC is vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. 40% of its population does not have access to clean drinking water and 40% of urban areas do not have access to waste management systems. By 2030, the Council plans to ensure that 90% of rural households have access to a basic clean water supply, increase basic sanitation and waste management services by 50%, and establish new initiatives related to tree planting and conservation culture in urban areas, while discouraging deforestation in rural areas.
