Conversations with CoM SSA: Gender-Sensitive Public lighting : How and why?

Join CoM SSA for a deep-dive on “Gender mainstreaming in the development of public lighting projects in sub-Saharan African cities” webinar on 24 June at 13h00 CAT (13h00 CET) for English speakers, and on 24 June at 15h00 CAT (15h00 CET) for French speakers.

AFD, co-implementing partner of CoM SSA, is eager to invite you to the Conversations with CoM SSA webinar dedicated to the Gender mainstreaming in the development of public lighting infrastructure projects with some experience feedback from the cities of Nouakchott and Kampala. The webinar will be also the opportunity to launch the User Guide to developing Gender-sensitive Public-Lighting Projects with the aim of encouraging local governments, cooperation agencies, development organizations, NGOs to take gender into account while designing and implementing urban public lighting projects.

The webinar will focus on the following key questions:

- What is gender responsive street lighting and what are its long-term benefits?
- What technologies, standards, and practices make an urban space safer for all?
- What are the methodologies to develop and implement gender responsive street lighting systems?
