The Covenant of Mayors for Sub-Saharan Africa (CoM SSA) is pleased to invite you to the Africities Summit which will take place in Kisumu, Kenya, from 17 to 21 May 2022.
The Summit will focus on "the role of Africa's intermediate cities in the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the African Union's Agenda 2063". This week event will provide an opportunity for a multitude of cities and development actors to come together to discuss responses to the major urban development challenges that cities will face in the future.
On this occasion, Expertise France, as a CoM SSA implementing partner, is organising the CoM SSA Sessions on 19 May. This day will highlight the cross-cutting issues of climate and waste management in African cities. You are invited to participate, alongside CoM SSA and its 270+ signatory cities, in technical sessions, roundtables and exchanges to share innovative solutions to tackle these challenges.

All sessions will be available in English, French, and Portuguese.

These efforts align seamlessly with the objectives outlined in South Africa's recently endorsed Climate Change Act, underscoring KwaDukuza's readiness to align with national climate goals.
